Career

Currently based in Burbank, California, Frank grew up in a musical family in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio where he was the guitarist for the Cincinnati funk band, Freebass (now known as Freekbass), a group produced by Bootsy Collins.[1]

Romano has toured and performed internationally with Rob Thomas, Mary J. Blige,[2] Toni Braxton, and Kanye West, among others. He has appeared alongside many of these artists on numerous national television shows, performing on Jay Leno, Late Night Show with David Letterman, The View, Ellen DeGeneres, MTV, The Today Show,[3] and Good Morning America. In 2005, he performed with Rob Thomas at the Live-8 Concert, in Philadelphia, PA [4] and can also be seen playing guitar on Rob Thomas’s DVD, “Live At Red Rocks”.

Aside from touring, Romano continues to work in the studio as a songwriter, producer and session guitarist. He has worked on recordings with Justin Timberlake, Jill Scott,[5] Akon, Usher, and Rob Thomas, and has collaborated with some prominent music producers.[6][7]

Romano is represented by the worldwide publishing company, Reach Global.[8] He has been recognized with four ASCAP songwriter awards for his work on the songs, “I Need a Girl” (Part 2) [9][10] by P. Diddy and “Don’t Change” by Musiq Soulchild[11]

2010 has been a successful year for Frank, as he received co-writing credits on Usher’s Grammy Nominated Album,[12] Album, Raymond v. Raymond for the track, “There Goes My Baby[13] which has also received a Grammy Nomination for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. Other co-writing credits in 2010 include Kid Cudi’s, “Erase Me” featuring Kanye West and Nelly’s, “Just a Dream" where Frank also plays guitar.

In addition to these successes, 2010 has brought about a new challenge for Frank as he has entered the world of television. Working under the composer for the show, Frank has co-written some of the music and can be heard playing guitar behind the dialogue in A&E's "Storage Wars".

Romano endorses Gibson Guitars, PRS Guitars, Fender Guitars, Ernie Ball Strings, Dunlop, Beamish Amplification, GTR Waves [14] and Native Instruments.

Romano lives in the Los Angeles, California area where he has built his own production studio, Evergreen Recording, with business partner, Jim Bottari. Together, they recently produced on Allstar Weekend's October 19 release, “Suddenly Yours” on Hollywood Records.[15]
